Legendary Actress Jessica Walter Passes Away At 80

Legendary actress Jessica Walter, most recently known for her turns as Lucille Bluth on Arrested Development and Malory Archer on FX’s Archer, has died at age 80, Deadline has confirmed. She passed away in her sleep in her New York home last night.

Across her decades-spanning career, Walter was nominated for both Emmy and SAG awards and lent her incredible talents to film, TV, and Broadway. In addition to her now iconic (and frequently memed) role as the hilariously cruel Lucille Bluth, Walter also starred in such pieces of cinematic history as Clint Eastwood’s Play Misty For Me which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.

On the stage, Walter performed in multiple Tony award winning productions such as Anything Goes, and most recently a 2016 revival of Steel Magnolias.
